Why people? Why?!?!?

Why? Why? Why?

Ok so apparently to some people it is considered an emergency when you have ordered a pizza and the delivery guy is there but is unable to access your SECURED building that you live in. These same people think its okay to call the after hours emergency line to have someone go let the pizza guy in. I very rationally explain that this person needs to call the concierge desk and ask them to let the pizza guy in because I am not paging a maintenance technician at almost 1:30 in the morning to get our of their bed and come open the door because caller is too damn lazy to just walk his own uppity ass downstairs and get his pizza from the delivery guy. I even offer to give caller the number to the concierge desk and after being told that I can not transfer him, that he will have to dial the number himself he says " you mean I have to write the number down and then call them?" YES that is EXACTLY what I mean ... you have to actually use that tiny brain of yours to physically write down a telephone number.

Same caller then calls back and says that nobody is answering the phone at the front desk and that it is becoming an emergency because his pizza is going to start getting cold ...
OK I have had enough of this .. I told caller I guess he is going to have to go let the pizza guy in all by himself instead of relying on someone else to do EVERYTHING for him ... then hung up.


I can not comprehend why lazy and ignorant now considered an acceptable thing.
I talk to people like this all the time at work and I cant help but think, how in the hell are these people considered fit to be able to live on their own.

People too lazy to meet a driver who has their food that is already being delivered from the restaurant to their home, I mean come on you didn't have to cook it or even go to the restaurant to eat or pick it up the literal least you can do is let the person bringing it to you in to the building or at least meet them downstairs in the lobby.

Grown adults that don't know how to change a light bulb, or that are completely baffled as to why the smoke detector keeps chirping and or how to change the battery in the smoke detector. Or the ones who don't know how to plunge a toilet?!?!? The list goes on and on.
